| Dede LaRue, a self taught, multi award winning sculptor, has a
big passion for dogs. Her extensive experience grooming,
training, and showing dogs has provided her an endless source of
inspiration and anatomical knowledge. She is also President of
Rocky Mountain Chinese Crested Rescue. Over the years, Dede has
developed her own unique multi-media sculpting technique, enabling
her to create powerful life-size pieces, as well as new smaller
pieces on wood or marble bases.
Most familiar to people is her Volkswagen door series -- dogs
hanging out of wall mounted vintage VW doors. They are
installed in Children's Hospitals in Denver, Chicago and Pittsbury.
Dede does commission portraits in all formats. The most
popular being the VW door series, available in a variety of colors,
incorporating up to 3 dogs.
Dede's incredible imagination, combined with sharp awareness and
wicked sense of humor, has inspired her to explore fantasy and
mythology themes, as well as social commentary, as evidenced by her
masterpiece, "The Game of Politics".

Her work is also on display at Hero's Pets in Littleton.
